Bournas Apollon

Bournas Apollon is a PhD candidate, and associate researcher at the Centre for Hydrology and Informatics in the Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering of the School of Civil Engineering at National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He holds a MSc in Water Resources Science and Technology and a Diploma in Rural and Surveying engineering from the NTUA. His ten years’ experience lies in both the private and public sectors where he has been employed as an expert in the fields of spatial data collection and management, data visualization, and modelling. His skills include advanced GIS tools implementation, IT programming for hydrological modelling and flood inundation maps analysis. His PhD research, funded by the State Scholarship Foundation (IKY), focuses on the fields of hydrometeorology and flood hydrology, and specifically, on the calibration and use of weather radar systems for early warning systems implementations.
