Research Overview

The research team of the Centre for Hydrology and Informatics has been actively involved during the last 2 decades in the implementation and management of European and National research projects on water-related issues.

The members of the team cooperate under the supervision of Professor Maria Mimikou for the sound implementation of all projects.

More specifically, CHI undertakes and successfully implements research in the scientific fields of hydrology, water resources management, flood risk assessment and management, water scarcity and drought etc. During and after the implementation of all projects numerous scientific publications in the related scientific domains are released, fostering the continuation of the research activity of the team.

These projects are assigned to the Laboratory of Hydrology and Water Resources Management by European authorities such as DG Research, DG Environment, European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), European Environment Agency (EEA). At national level, research projects are mainly assigned by Greek Ministries (e.g. former Greek Ministry of Environment, Physical Planning and Public Works), Communities and Municipalities etc.
