Assessment of the 3rd River Basin Management Plans (RBMPs)

The aim of the project is to provide support to the European Commission (DG Environment) with the assessment of the 3rd cycle of the River Basin Management Plans (RBMPs). The support will consist in providing DG Environment with a series of deliverables including: (i) an updated methodology for the assessment of the RBMPs, based on the review of the methodology used for the second cycle, and lessons learned from this process; (ii) the application of the updated methodology in the assessments of the 3rd RBMPs for Greece and Cuprus; (iii) the development of specifications for additional digital data viewers to improve the visualisation of the results of the assessment; and (iv) the development of a report summarizing lessons learned.

The outcomes of the project will be used by DG Environment for its reporting on the implementation of the Water Framework Directeve (WFD). As such, one key aspect of the project will be to work closely with Wood and DG Environment to ensure our outputs meet the requirements of the formal compliance assessment.
