Maria Kapetanaki

Maria Kapetanaki is a researcher at the Centre for Hydrology and Informatics (CHI) in the Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering of the School of Civil Engineering at NTUA. She holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering (NTUA) and an MSc in Coastal Processes and Management and Environmental Management of Water Resources. She has more than twelve years’ experience as a consultant engineer in projects related to Water Resources and Environment Management. She has a great experience in project management and environmental studies, including the design of hydraulic works, water and wastewater treatment plants and the development and implementation of software applications. She has conducted hydraulic studies of important transportation networks and has participated in the design of flood protection works. Her professional interests lie also in the field of hydrologic model development, validation and simulation, mathematical simulation of hydrodynamic behaviour and water renewal in marinas and coastal areas, coastal and estuarine modelling and water quality. Her research activity includes participation in 14 research projects and 6 publications in International Journals and Conference Proceedings.
