George Bariamis

George Bariamis works as Research Assistant in the Laboratory of Hydrology and Water Resources since 2013. He holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering from the University of Patras and a Masters Degree in Water Resources Science and Technology from the School of Civil Engineering of National Technical University of Athens.

He was Awarded by the Academy of Athens – Class of Sciences – (2010), and with the Bakala’s Foundation Scholarship during his undergraduate studies (2003-2008).

His research is concentrated on Hydrology, Water Resources Management, Water Efficiency issues and Environmental & Natural Capital Accounting Standards. He is experienced in hydrological analysis and processes, statistical and stochastic hydrology, hydrological modeling, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and hydrology and large national and international water databases.

Currently he works in NTUA as a team member of  the European Topic Centre on Inland, Coastal and Marine Waters (ETC/ICM) Consortium with the European Environment Agency (EEA) in the field of environmental assessment methods of water pressures and water efficiency under EU Policies; e.g. Water Framework and Floods Directives.
